3. 23 – 24 inch luggage

23 – 24 inch luggage is perfect for travelers who aren’t quite ready to take it with them and just need a little extra space. But if you're traveling with another person and your luggage is packed together, it might be better to carry a 25-27 inch suitcase.

4. 25 – 27 inch large luggage

Typically, a 25 – 27 inch suitcase is the most popular checked luggage size because it has a lot of room. Ideally, you would use this suitcase size if you wanted to check a bag for two people. If you're traveling as a family, you can also pack everyone's belongings into two of these suitcases for easy portability, rather than the less-movable oversized suitcase below.

5. 28 – 32 inch oversized luggage

28 – 32 inch suitcases are oversized suitcases with very high capacity. Due to their large size, they can be too bulky for standard travel. And they may exceed size and weight restrictions. Therefore, if it is not a special need, generally you do not need this type of oversized suitcase.

In general, unless you are planning to move abroad or will be staying in one location for an extended period of time, never use a suitcase larger than 27 inches.
